compared to combustion, after effects just rocks ( i use both of them ). I saw a small video on the adobe website, it’s just amazing. So powerful, so easy to use. wow!!!

Still missing a real good paint module, the one in combustion is just so good. and also a true schematic view.

and masks, selections, tracker (not versatile equal of Combustion)…but rocks

for me the features is great BUT I can’t do compositing without a node based view. The timeline is great, and they shouldn’t replace this – but add a scematic view would turn this product into a compositing packagde and not just a Motion Graphic application :-=)

I acctually think that although I use AE everyday it has nevr lived up to his potential, mainly ’cause its made by the same people that make Photoshop.

AE should have the most amazing paint and mask system ever, just add a button in AE to access PSD(like the PSD button for image ready) The button opens the AE comp in Photoshop. You paint and mask there (PSD has a timeline where you can see your work) push a button in photoshop and return to the standard AE GUI.

The day that happens AE will enter the major leagues…

All the effects of AE support this new feature?

the answer is no, as when AE came to 16bit, all effects were not in 16bit. But i read there’s an “effect”(more post and pre processing than an effect) to apply 8 or 16 bit effects to 32 bit image. It downconvert the 32bit image, apply the effect, and then upconvert to 32bit…

in this way is not possible to use all the extra information of images HDR in the effect, lesser quality?
