Hi guys,
We did a Octane1 to Octane2 upgrade last year.
The upgrade was a graphics MXE to V12 and Digital Video (DIVO) to DM2.
But the processors are old….
We�re thinking on upgrading to newer processors but we�d like to know what performance increase should we expect when upgrading….
We�d upgrade from:
– Dual R12K 270Mhz to Dual R14K 600Mhz (or higher is there is any)
Would this upgrade increase our processor performance 2x??]
What about the overall preformance? 50 or 80%??Rgds,

never used a 270 system….but i’ve used a dual 360 r12k, a dual 400 r12k, a single 600 r14k, and a dual 600 r14k
All I can say is more than yes….after a dual 600 r14k (this is the highest rated cpu module that will go into an oct2) you will laugh and wonder how you got along so long with dual 270’s
