Hi guys,
I’ve been through Flame user’s guide to play with expressions…
I also had a look at expresions tuts on this site which are very cool to start with. Big up John Montgomery !Actually I’m looking for a web site that is dedicated to Flame’s expressions (no MEL, no After Effects scripting, no shake scripting…) with pratical examples .
If you guys know about such a link, that would be wonderful.
Thanks a lot,
Alfafa.February 20, 2006 at 5:06 pm #212050AnonymousInactiveThanks for the comments. We’re looking at doing more expressions stuff here on fxguide….what type of stuff are you interested in?
Just as an fyi, our fxguide live DVD series also has a section on expressions (http://www.customflix.com/Store/ShowEStore.jsp?id=206780).
March 6, 2006 at 2:36 pm #212054KenParticipantSomething a lot of us have been wanting ever since they came out with Expressions. But no-one has yet, so I guess we’ll have to become geeks after all.
March 6, 2006 at 9:31 pm #212053KjellParticipantmaybe the fxG staff could set aside a subcategory in the Forums for Flame Expressions
i have this really great cheat-sheet that i inherited from another aritst that i keep under my tablet….i’ve added scribbled notes to it over the years and refer to it almost weekly. it’s mostly stuff that’s been covered here over and over again, but i’d be happy to scan and share it with anyone who wants it.

I think this subcategory idea in the Forums for Flame Expressions would be a great.
And I would love to have a look at your “expressions cheat-sheet”, since there is not much about that subject anywhere, it would be appreciated.
Let’s run the scan 😉Thanks,
Take care.March 7, 2006 at 12:43 am #212056IsaacParticipantyeah, i would love to see your cheat sheet to. i have a few i keep hanging around as well because the amount i use expressions tends to be erratic – not enough to have the important ones memorized but then a need for something only an expression can accomodate will come up out of nowhere. sounds like time for a new FxGuide special expressions tip….

timMarch 7, 2006 at 5:58 pm #212051KjellParticipantmost, if not all of the expressions i mentioned that i keep in a “cheat sheet” can be found here:
http://www.fxguide.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=5
i’ll try and post/repost/move expressions posts that i’ve seen elsewhere or made myself to this area

sAnd who did you inherit it from mr. smarty pants? I know you didn’t create it yourself.
March 8, 2006 at 2:03 am #212049AnonymousInactiveIt would be great if you guys — by that I mean our guest poster especially — could take your discussion offline…our Forums aren’t really the place to be dealing with issues like this….

March 8, 2006 at 6:05 pm #212057NoriakiParticipantWoaw…woaw…guys
Come down !
This forum is about sharing ideas, concepts, experiences…I know some people get nervous when it comes to Flame but anyway we still have to take the software/hardware further by sharing.
For those who are scared to lose their sit beacause of knowledge expansion, they should try to run every FFI suites in the world at the same time so they could be the only ONE to know…everything.
Take it easy.

March 8, 2006 at 6:46 pm #212046AnonymousGuestMr. johnmont, Mr. alfafa, Mr. kalthans, mr. sidewalksurfing,
I started this and I will hopefully end it with an apology to all. These forums are a great resource for all and I haphazardly defiled it with my immature sarcasm. Please let the information flow freely. In the future I will seriously contemplate on the saying my friend kalthans was fond of saying “You can always take yourself out of the game.”.
With that being said, lets not waste anymore bandwidth on this trite subject that I so tritely started.
Best wishes to all.
Scott
