Yeah, support.discreet.com seems under construction. It would be nice if someone from Autodesk gave some clue.

Let’s hope we won’t be stuck with the Area.

It just makes me wonder, what with My First Flame dissapearing too. When the forum changed a few years back we were all kept in the loop, (but then that was pre Autodesk).

    You can go to http://www.the-area.com

I know at NAB they wanted to make that the hub for all Autodesk Products. There is a disscussion board there for IFFS.

probably just forgot to renew the URL like myfirstflame :p

just found this at the Area:

Due to a hardware failure, all systems news groups including Flame-News, Smoke-News and Lustre-News are down.

We are currently addressing the issue in order that the newsgroups be brought back up as quickly as possible.

Note that access to customer support is not impacted and should you require any assistance, please contact your local Autodesk Media and Entertainment Customer support representative.
Customer support is also available through your Autodesk reseller or consult the Support web site at: http://www.autodesk.com/support/

    Sincerely,
The Autodesk Media and Entertainment Team

They propably sacked all the people that looked after this stuff along with the programers that fixed bugs on the flame.

I now no how companies work out how to charge out software, the more the bugs the more the price.

I understand why Nuke is so much cheaper.

Really miss flame-news. It has not been down this long! Ever! Even when it was the old flame-news newsgroup. When can we have it back?

It does seem to have been down for a really LONG time.
We have no idea when it will be up again.

    quote:

We had a critical hardware failure on the systems list server. We are looking into it but its taking longer than expected to resolve because It’s holiday season and other than front line support a large number of the team were on vacations over the last 10 days.

Support posted a message on the systems web boards on the Area confirming this.

I notice that the tutorial section features nothing beyond 2009…

    http://www.myfirstflame.com/index.php/training/

I wonder if that will change.
