Does anyone out there run a newish monitor on the SGI Octaine 2, at the moment we`ve got the old SGI CRT which is bigger than a car!!, we need to move this older Flint somewhere else and we’re looking for a flatscreen LCD to replace it. I know there’s a sync issue with some screens as the Flint seems to display 50htz and 52htz!! Just wondering if anyone has used another monitor for this and what it is!!
    Thanks for you help!

The new systems use an Eizo CE-240W-DI, the DI is very important. Check out the specs on Eizo’s webpage. Can’t think of a reason why this wouldn’t work.

Actually, integrating a different display with Flame/Flint on the Octane2 can be quite tricky unless you really know what you are doing. I would probably stick with a CRT if I were you, it’s probably the simplest way to go.

What’s the tricky part? The Eizo LCD (as well as the older Sony P234) is connected analogue and syncs on 48, 60, 72, 75 and everything else you need.

Although, coming to think of it, how do you set modelines in Irix …. ?

Found this via google, hope it helps.
