I have seen a number of times in TV what i call flying ribbons. Showtime promos as well as many commercials where lines move through space sometimes in 2d others in 3d. Without being application specific I would like to know how they are done. Thanks

ThanksHave a look at Trapcodes “3D stroke” and “Particular”, I think that is what you are after. You could probably achieve the same thing with a 3D app as well but those plug-ins will get you going a bit faster.

In the end, I just find it much more efficient to use the plug-in for After Effects. Its really worth the cost….

You don’t get all the control you’d get in Maya or Houdini, but they’re pretty flexible, look great, and render really fast!
