Hi! Anybody that have a good tip on how to create a glass layer in combustion? I want to create the feeling that the characer is standing behind a window or so… Ive trid working with the layers that reflect on to her but it doesnt turn out 100%. Any tutorials on it?

December 1, 2005 at 3:50 pm #211248AlanEBellParticipantI recomend shooting a glass window element. Shoot a window that is lit properly for the plate you plan to composite it with, get your reflections more or less the way you want them. You can use black as a backing to your window element.
Then its a pretty simple composite to put your glass over the bg plate.If you can’t shoot one then you will have to manufacture one. Look around at windows and perhaps shoot some still frames that you can use as reference or even for you plate depending on the results you want.
What sells glass are reflections.
You can paint them but anything complex is going to be a pain. So get your reflection plate on film or video.Regards
