Hi there, i’m training on the latest flame and I would love to get some advice on how to grade dv to look nice ,as if it has been shot on film. I have been told that putting grain on it is good start.
Also any specific grading techniques within the colour corrector or where ever would be mostly appreciated and even a way of working would be great.

    Many many thanks!

grain helps of course…use a double field merge, try color correcting in batch with the LUT editor and a combination of multiple logic ops would help…try and get a look WITHOUT using plugins first, cos then u will understand the techniques better..and therefore would be able to handle any kind of dv shot in the future

    1 glow
    2 glow darks
    3 field merge
(optional – blur green or blue channel a little bit)
    4 color correct increase contrast
5 regrain, grane must be large, like 2-3 pixels
