June 29, 2005 at 5:06 am #210224David MarteParticipantNot many people own a Matrox Parhelia 256MB board. its specifically designed for video work, which matrox is known for….I run CB4 on this baby and oh man, cant complain….not to mention that it supports WYSIWYG plug-ins for Combustion, max, Photoshop, premier, after effects ect……….I recommend it……….
June 29, 2005 at 8:23 am #210225TimorParticipanti would recommend the nvidia card if you can afford it.
the question is do you really need such an expensive card?
it is almost the most expensive card available and if you are not planning to run smike on linux on you system i think a fx 1100 would be way enough.
(i hope you were talking about the quadro line)to comment the recommandation for the matrox:
it is a really solid card for 2d (video/grafik) but if you ever plan to use it with a 3d application, forget it!
matrox is really poor in 3d.my 2cents.
hope this helps…
