Great job to everyone who worked on the first fxguidetv episode. The content was great, the flow was good, subject lighting was top notch, and the graphics package was very clean and slick. That being said, I only have two critiques (very minor compared to the already high production value).
The first is that the reflections on the glass behind Angie were a little distracting. I was able to make out the camera, a greenscreen, and possibly Mr. Seymour in the reflections. Adding a circular polarizing filter to your camera will minimize, if not eliminate, the reflections. This may have been intentional, and if so, I apologize. It was just a little distracting to me.
The second mild critique was that Angie had to look down so often to check notes and cues. Once in a while isn’t a bad thing, but the number of times it happened showed just a bit of disorganization. Teleprompters are nice, but if not available, you can easily post the main points to cue cards right next to the lens. Again, a very mild critique. Angie’s got a great personality for this, and she handled the first episode beautifully.
Great job everyone.
Sincerely,
Joel Bialek

More Ange is not enough, so here is a vote for NOT getting rid of the reflections 😉

What camera are you shooting with? Obviously you are editing in FCP.
In the second episode, is that the new Sony LCD Monitor in your edit suite?
Keep up the great show, I can’t wait to see more!
