Hey thought i’d try throwing this up here. I’m looking to purchase/rent a particular green/blue screen but i’m having trouble finding where i can get it.

The screen seems to already have track points on it in a grid fashion (if that makes sense) It looks as though they used light and dark
green dots and the grid encompasses the entire screen.

I’ve seen this type of screen twice and both were from “behind the scenes” segments of feature films.

I’ve called a couple of green/blue screen manufacturer’s and no seems to have heard of it.

    Anybody?

Why you want to have tracking points already fixed on a green screen? Do you want to have to deal with erase tracking points from your green screen on every single work you do? Tracking point should be placed strategically for every single project, and trying the hard you can to avoid interfere with what you have to key, so they can be erased with just a simple mask. And with the current tracking technology, sometimes you don’t even need to add tracking points.

Wow…thanks thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Why?, becasue if the tracking points were of varying degrees of green/blue i would still have enough contrast to to lock onto them them for the track, then with a simple hue shift during the keying process i can get rid of them. Then i don’t have to waste needless amounts of time removing those “strategically” places points…per your suggestion.

Do some home work before you start typing…oh, and i found the screen…and it worked great.

I’m sorry if my post offended you in any way, and I know that I may sound a bit harsh on my first post, I was just trying to do a quick contribution to your question.

But do you really need to use that king of aggression with some one that is only trying to help you with his experience own experience that can be different from yours?

The reason because I said trying to avoid using tracking points where you have people crossing over, if it is possible, is because that will make you select a wider range of green to key out and if you have that crossing behind hair, or you have transparencies or shadows that you want to keep, the those tracking marks can make keeping that more difficult. But why do I have to explain this to you. looks like you know it all already.

I would tell you relax a bit, then come back when you are ready to do your contribution to this community, and if a colleague makes you a suggestion, and you think he or she is wrong, point out why you think is wrong and let him learn from you.

I’m happy you found the screen and works great, maybe you can share the information so other can learn too. I might have to try one of those screens myself.

I got the impression VictorWol was only trying to help.
Your post wasnt really clear and it seemed like you were looking for a screen with the dots already on it.
Vic only pointed out thats not the smartest thing, only being nice I guess.
The remark about doing homework isnt nice but Im not a native speaker so I could be missing something.

Glad you found your screen, gl on the job.
