    hey guys,

i have a huge problem using the “auto stabilize” node in batch with hd 1080i/50 footage.
after analysing the footage the stabilized clip has weird lines and distortions.
it seems to be only a problem with interlaced footage.
but there is no “progressive / field1/2”-button (like in the resize-node for example) to tell the “auto stabilize” node that the footage is interlaced.

hope you can help me out,
    janwess

Try deinterlacing the clip first (it’ll be twice as long), run that through the auto stabilize node, then reinterlace the result. Interlaced footage needs to be treated carefully when doing any kind of resizing/repositioning or else you’ll potentially get all kinds of artifacts with the fields like you are seeing. Since the footage gets rotated and scaled during the stabilization process, that is most likely where your artifacts are coming from. Good luck!
