Hi there,
I´m trying to archive an HD 25psf project to HDCAM tape but when I format the archive the app starts to write the header and so far so good, the problem is when starts decoding the header it stops and give me a message Cannot write header to tape…!
Did this happen to someone!?I,ve allready change tapes, deck, project settings and nothing seems to work!
I,ve never had similiar problems archiving to Digibeta or to File.
I,m on a smoke 2008 SP4 using an HP8400 and flint 2009sp1, ref settings set to standalone, an deck ref set to input video as we do not own a tri level sync generator.
Cheers

You can capture all day long but laying off is a different story. On the cheap side you can rent or pick up a tri level sync gen from decklink or aja.
The Decklink one was only 300$. If your in Los Angeles you can get one in stock at melrosemac.com from there brick and mortar store on melrose. Not sure if this will help your problem but it is a good start.

Run a cable from “sync out” on back of VTR to Ref in on Flame. If vtr sees no ref coming in it will act as standalone and generate its own tri level sync. Set Flame to House. That works for me, give it a try.
