G’day all.
I’ve been trying to set up some expressions to achieve this…
I have a 3D object (a plane) that I’ve chucked into my action. I want to set up some expressions to animate the rotation around the y axis and the z axis depending upon the location of the axis in relation to previous frames (as in the y rotation (the nose) of the plane is facing in the direction it is traveling while the z rotation (the banking) corresponds to the y rotation so it banks as it goes around corners). This way i can theoretically just animate its position and have it rotate around the appropriate axis’ automatically.
I have been playing around using the align function but haven’t been able to get it working properly. The other day I managed to get the z-rotation to work correctly but the y-rotation would randomly switch between 180 and -180. I played with the function for a while and now it is giving seemingly random rotation. I have managed to thoroughly confuse myself now.
Can anyone tell me the correct usage and channel to apply my function to (and whether the align function will even allow me to do this)?
Also can you tell me if the function will break if i then add another axis above this one to offset the movement to a different position/rotation etc (so i can have multiple instances of the model all moving in different directions/speeds)
Cheers
