Hi there – I have just moved over to Smoke from Flame, and there’s a few simple things tripping me up. With a clip on the edit desk how do I simply drag a copy of one frame from the clip, to create a new one frame clip? ctrl+spacebar+dragging the frame out gesturally does it in Flame. What is the Smoke equivalent? Apologies for such a simple question!
Thanks!

Regarding your question, there is no such shortcut I know of. But you can hold shift-F and drag the selection between IN-OUT. Just mark the single frame you want with in and out and there you go. Don’t know why it has to be so complicated …August 20, 2010 at 7:42 am #219281cmg cmgParticipantWell you can always get a copy of my Smokeys keyboard stickers and use another keyboard…
I like using the desktop tool repeat under the video tools to make a quick still frame.

You have to hold the shift key + F to subclip out a frame, or any duration for that matter.

If you are using 2011 or later of Smoke than when you create a new user, you can tell Smoke to use the Flame hot-keys if you wish to go down that route.
Just another suggestion.
