… If after I have loaded material from an EDL and the clips are in my library, will a new EDL that uses the same clips in a different order link to the clips I have previously loaded?

And as such, can I simply use the new EDL, same old clips, and assemble a new sequence.

Have fun deciphering that one …

Yes. You can use the new edl without loading the material again. In the edl module, change the name of the Library Reel to match the name of the source area where the original material is saved in the library. Once you change the name in the edl module, an X should appear next to each edit. This indicates that the system has already captured the material. Just hit assemble and go to the library to load this new clip.

just to add… if there still are clips that are uncaptured you can ‘select uncaptured’ and capture these clips adding them to your reel. now you can assemble the clip with the missing shots.
