Is this possible? I know Unix, linix, or irix can be accessed on the mac because it is internal.

So you can run windows on the mac already right, with modulators, and vitual P.C right? So my question is are there modulators out there or programs to to run irix, or linix programs on the mac?

I just want to know if it would be possible to even open a program? If not, how one can try to do so? Am I on the right start using these links as resources?

Would one need a specific version of the mac, an older hardware perhaps?

Did you have a look at X11?

3Dequalizer which was recently ported on mac was based on X11 (even the indigo interface was kept!).

You have to recompile the program to run on OS X. Depending on the program you will have to modify more or less of it.

there are no emulators for running IRIX on Mac OS X that I know of so I guess it will involve a to of hacking on your part
