Has anyone used the new IBK yet? I’m curious as to what it is and how it works. The text from the press release and similar is really not at all enlightening, and makes it sound like a standard channels/tolerance/softness sort of thing. “Image Based” sounds more exciting than that, like it might use a spatial approach or something. Even a screenshot of the interface would be interesting 🙂

ibk is an open keying system where instead of having a multitude of sliders to control the key seperate images are used for the parameters – hence ‘image based’ . This way an artist can localize fixes based on simple colour corrections and beziers or some procedural approach making the whole keying process more modular and far more intuitive. Instead of pondering for hours which colour to pick or which road to go down ibk provides a clear and direct route to pulling the highest quality keys.

That sounds pretty sensible. Thanks. I’ll have to try and have a play with it some time.
