Thanks, that makes sense. I haven’t done a lot of model import, the final render is being done in Max, but I wanted a decent looking proxy in the meantime.
I dont do a lot of model importing, but in 2010 you may find uses for the new UV wraping options. So i may be possible to import your .tga or .jpg textures and have them as meda and perhaps wrap them properly with UVs. Just a thought… haven’t tested to see if it really works that way. But I imagine that is why it was implemented.
I’d like to watch a demo by someone who really knows what they’re doing with it.
As a (limited) 3ds max guy as well, I would always feel like I have much more control in the 3d software in terms of renderer, materials, lighting, etc., although it would be nice to just import the model and do the rest in flame.
