Hello !
I have an FBX file which come from Maya, and I need to import it in Nuke.
To do this, I find this tuto on the web :1. Export the camera from Maya with default settings in the FBX
2. In Nuke create a camera
3. Check the read from file box
3. goto the file tab and load up the camera
4. change the take name to “Take 001” or whatever is in there besides “Default” because it doesn’t load up the animation correctly.
5. In “node name” pick your camera because FBX has default front/side/top, etc… in there.
6. Hit the “reload” button.
7. Click on the “Camera” tab and uncheck the “read from file” button which lets you change the camera’s attributes.
8. Change the rotation order from “ZXY” to “XYZ”.But when I’m doing this way, I can’t change the Take Name because there is only “default” that appear in my node.
So I have my camera, in the right position, but there is absolutely no animation.Anyone does know where is the problem ?
Thank you very much !
(And sorry for my bad english)Kid

In the fbx export setting, you have to change the version back to fbx2010 or before. I think that will solve your problem. I assume there is compatibility issue for the latest version of fbx.

Finally I did away with the fbx format altogether.
I ended up duplicating the camera..Parent constraining the dup to the animated cam, baking this animation to the duped cam, then exporting a .chan file from this baked camera.
So far its solid.
I used a mel script from creative crash to export the chan.November 22, 2011 at 8:28 pm #219800AnonymousInactiveThis is the mel script I use. Its quick and easy. You may have to change the focal length and vert/horizontal aperture in nuke.
