I am attempting to import DVCPROHD files into the Smoke system but after the files are brought in I am losing information above .7 millivolts. How can I import files with Headroom the same way you capture a tape with headroom?

As it stands at the moment that would be a codec rewrite I believe. We’ve just had a similar issue trying to import MXF and the clipping is occuring at the YUV>RGB import stage so unfortunately you cannot apply a LUT to get the info back. We had Montreal test this for us as we found that via Avid we could export a TIF that maintained the headroom (keeping it in YUV, if we had Avid YUV>RGB then it clipped too)

    hope that helps

Good to know. Hopefully Autodesk can write the headroom option into the file import function. 12 channels of audio would be helpful these days too.

    Thanks for the post.
