    hey guys,

first question of a long upcoming series i’m afraid… i just got a trial license from The Foundry, so for the coming 30 days i’m going to explore NUKE from bottom to top and side to side to try fogire out if i’m going to ruin myself and invest in the whole Shabang! 🙂

First issue i encountered after installing, i tried to load/import a Oexr sequence rendered out of 3ds Max, but it wouldn’t import. I got an error:

/B]”couldn’t read file D:Project/Kate_V5_%04d.exr0-6903(3748 missing)”: no such file or directory[B

So i wonder, is it a problem with missing files? with the name of the sequence? with the format? Any idea?

    Thanks for you help,

    Cheers,

    A.

If this is your path then the / symbol is missing after D:

Try to drag&drop from the explorer window directly into the DAG.

No, i edited the path cause it was kinda long and showing some project and client name that was not only confidential but also irrelevant to solve the issue, my bad, i made a mistake while typing it.

    Cheers,

but i’m now wondering why that “%” sign appears in there? Any known specific requirements with the name of footages? problem with underscores? or specific prefixes?

be sure the path has no additional characters in it, Nuke won’t support that.
It has to be Linux conform.

“i tried to load/import a Oexr sequence rendered out of 3ds Max “

Use the Read node to bring in image sequences. Load and Import are for scripts and gizmos

    hope this helps

The %04d stands in for your 4-digit frame number. If your frame numbers were 6-digits it would have been %06d.

If you’re really considering investing in Nuke, I’d suggest signing up for a term of FXPhD and doing at least the intro to Nuke classes. It’ll be well worth your time and money, and it’ll let you compare Nuke to it’s competitor Fusion as well (since both are available to students as full VPN software).
