Please forgive me guyz for asking some pretty basic questions which I think a comper like myself should know or should be familiar with.
But my problem is I spend more time with Adobe After Effect than Combustion but one of the major reason I am using Combsution is becos I like the fact that I can interact with my layers/footage using the nodal compositing structure of the application..I guess you feel.
Please guyz, I need help on using the paint workspace in combustion…:(

Well Paint in combustion is an operator.
It can be placed in line with a SOLID for animated painting
It can can be placed really at any point in a flow to paint on top of any income source.
It can have any number of secondary inputs which are utilized as Clone/revel sources.
It is based on vectors which can extended and animated over any number of frames, and they can be stacked in any order.
It also allows effects, selections, and masks to be inserted in the stack.
objects in the paint timeline (independent for each paint node) can be grouped as needed to give offset axis capabilities.
Effects can be stacked, attached to obejcts, attached to groups.
Transfer modes are avaialble on a per object basis.
Selections and masks offer booleans.
Objects that have XY positions can be 2d tracked at the object or vector level to assist with complex roto work.
Controls can also be simplified so paint can be used to generate simple flash animations (.swf)
So paint can be used as motion graphics or VFX depending on your application…
It’s just one more node in combustion….
Give me some specifics of what you want to know…and I’ll try to help….

…how can I use the paint operator in combustion to paint a bullet hole on a wall…
Let say I have 2 jpeg files, one is the wall and the other a bullet hit…how do I paint this hit one the wall of the other jpeg file…
Thanks…

In schematic view the Paint tool has 2 inputs – White and Blue.
The Withe is for the original footage – Wall.
The Blue input is for Revealing image – Bullet Hole.In the Paint setting choose Reveal and select the “Bullet hole” from dropdown menu.
Select Brush tool and Use Alt Key to select Area from Bullet hole to paint over the Wall Footage …Sorry for my English!
Hope it helpsRegards,

If I may ask…cant I create my brushes in photoshop and import into combsution and if I can how do I do that…
2ndly, how do I use a tablet with the paint operator…I tried connecting my tablet with it and my tablet will not work…
3rdly, I think I have a problem painting video on another video footage…they dont seem to match…
I hope to read from you soon…
