I’m wondering if its possible to layoff picture to an HDCAM SR tape that already has a 5.1 audio mix on it. I heard a rumor that part of the 5.1 mix is contained within the video track and that laying off new picture will overwrite this part, thus ruining your audio. anybody know about this? thanks.You can safely do that to an HDCAMSR tape with either 5.1 discreet audio tracks, or Dolby E encoded tapes. I do it every day.
