Deluxe Digital Studios/Digicaptions is looking to fill a position for a Layout/Tracking Supervisor in our Pune, India facility.

This position reports to the Production Supervisor and the VFX Supervisor.

The Layout/Tracking Supervisor is responsible for the artistic and technical work of a team of 3D tracking and matchmoving artists and may be required to expand the teams to other areas like layout, rotomation, and/or previs as needed. They will be involved in vetting artists for technical, artistic, and personal fit. Additionally, they will be expected to meet regularly via videoconference with clients and supervisors in English.

A passport is required for as-needed travel to clients or other Deluxe facilities.

Principal Duties:
• Artistic leadership of teams of tracking, matchmove and layout artists
• Hands-on camera tracking, matchmove, layout, object tracking, and rotomation on high-end shots
• Artistic supervision of all shots that enter and leave the facility, and final accountability for aesthetic and technical quality
• Responsibility for all artists’ skills, training, and creative excellence
• Supervision of all artists and team leaders, including performance improvement and reviews.

Technical Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience and knowledge in high-quality broadcast, feature film and/or commercial work.
• A good understanding of light, color, film/digital, and integration of 3D with on-set photography
• Experience tracking shots in Syntheyes and strong knowledge of other 3D Tracking Software (PFTrack, Boujou, etc)
• Strong knowledge of layout in Maya
• Experience tracking and animating in Nuke, with compositing experience a plus
• Camera knowledge and on-set skills a plus
• Understanding and experience with hand-tracking, lens distortion, rigid and non-rigid objects, motion blur issues, and integrating on-set data
• Knowledge and experience in VFX workflows, with stereo pipelines a plus
• Ability to learn multiple facility pipelines to be able to prepare a scene and publish the data
• 3D modeling, texturing, animating, lighting, and rendering if required

Other Requirements:
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with supervising, mentoring, and training artists
• A history of aesthetic and technical mastery in high-end projects
• Understanding of client’s outsource material unification procedures
• Comfort in a Windows-based environment and use of Shotgun a plus
