Does anyone have a standard way of converting linear images to log inside inferno?
I have some elements coming from digital cameras (jpg) and photoshop (16 bit tiff) which are in linear space. I want import them in Inferno to comp them on cineon log images.
We are using the cineon images in log (no lut applied when importing)
So far I am using Shake to convert my elements to log space before importing them in Inferno. It’s a pain and I would really like to be able to just color correct them in Inferno without clipping. I just can’t find a standard setup.

Have you tried the “lut editor” node in batch? It has “lin to log” conversion mode, and it supports film/video/custom gamma settings.

yes thanks for the tip. I have tried but when I compare the result to the original frame it does change the black and white levels.
Still looking for the “transparent” conversion tool in Inferno..
