Thanks for the info. I’ve checked on that website and found that the price is about 10K. Is it a reasonable price?

I dug out an old price list from discreet dated Jan 04 and they list : DMediaPro DM2 HD & SD Video I/O XIO Option for Octane2 systems. Includes VBOB for $22050.
But hardware devalues so fast, it’s hard to say if $10K is a good price in todays market. It would also depend on how much help XSI will give you installing & configuring it.
If I were you, I would go to Times Square on Sukhumvit, have a cold Singha and think about it some more 😀

Isn’t that always a question with discreet/SGI solutions?

For what it’s worth, my reseller quoted a price for the same part within the last 60 days which was roughly double the XSI price. (I opted not to buy either)

You could also try Reputable Systems, although the last time I checked I didn’t see the part there.

We have an SGI Octane2 Phantom Transfer Engine on the Spirit telecine. It use DM2 for transfer scanned data. We changed it to the HiPPI option so DM2 was not used for a 1 year.
We work with our system integrator and it have a second office in Washington DC. I can give them DM2 to helping in delivery to your location. I can supply with photos of DM2, VBOB and connection cables.
