Hello everyone,
I´m doing a show in 2k 10bit log, but have never done it before. I need help with this whole lut thing
I know that I can import cin files and have an automatic conversion done there. but if I render the whole thing
the lut is still applyed to those images.
we use 3d images as well but those are in 8bit lin pic format.
I really want to get the composits right.is it a good way to import the cin files with the automatic conversion and save this LUT as a file.
than import my cin files again without the conversion and use “View LUt” and import the saved file?I really need some advise!
thanks

this is ram here,
i have some info for u,but i dont know wether it will be use full for u.
i worked in sgi workstations earlier i used avid illusion n matador softwares for compositing .the place i worked they scan 2k res cin format
wat we use in compositing is that a filter called cinenon which converts
log to linear or linear to log both ways.but now im working wit combustion in windows platforms we dont use any lut’s since that part is done in scanning process itself.they scan using lut
and generate 8 bit rgb format files so both the 3d elements n the scanned image are of 8 bit so no problem.so u can try scanning in sgi 8 bit format .
