Running Final Cut Studio 5.1 the first Universal release for this Application, a Mac Book Pro 2,16 Ghz with an Intel core duo beat a Dual PowerMac G5 running at 2,0 Ghz.

Or you could see it as a laptop built from todays intel microprocessor technology is slightly faster than IBMs chip tech from 2 years ago… running code optimized for both platforms.
“Ditch your old dual G5s and buy a laptop” I guess is the message right?
That’s what the test shows. Nothing else.
