I wanted to run something by the experienced people here. I have a script about half of which is set on an island. Many of the shots are indoors, but the outdoor shots need to look like they are set on a mountainous island. Now, I could shoot on a mountainous island, but would it be more economical to use background replacement (perhaps on a peninsula)? Would this be achievable on a feature with a budget of about 500k?
