With the appearance of Virginia Tech supermac, does anyone think discreet should make the jump?

I really hope that apple will release a 4 (or more) processors machine so it’ll be able to run a mac version of the flame.
Discreet products on mac would be really great!

OS X + G5 + 23 inch cinema display + xServe FibreChannel RAID + BlackLogic HD card would be an excellent Flint workstation.

I think discreet should move to OS X instead of Linux. Since OS X is also a flavour of UNIX (like IRIX and Linux), it seems to be a natural match with FFI. And unlike Linux, you could be running Combustion, Cleaner, Photoshop, Illustrator, iTunes, Shake and Final Cut Pro on your Flint box!

However, I am realistic, and I would be *extremely* surprised if they did switch to OS X.

Historically, discreet and AutoDesk have been very anti-Mac. All their Mac products (Cleaner and Combustion) have been bought from other companies.

They only kept Mac development to avoid the anger from existing customers.

Don’t forget that they almost dropped Combustion 3 for Mac (v3 has been out for Windows for weeks and is still not released for Mac).
