1. first run the mcr script, go to (menu)maxscript, run script. and naviagte to the .mcr
it wont be seen to have done anything but it will have inserted an entry in your custom ui list.2. next go to menu-customize, customize user interface, toolbars tab. On the right you have a drop down list of toolbars. hit new and then call it something like “scripts”. this will produce a new floating toolbar (it will be small as it is empty). drag this floater onto the main ui toolbar and it will anchor itself there.
3. staying in menu-customize, customize user interface, toolbars tab, group should be “MainUI” and select the drop down list for Category. scroll down and you will now see an entry called NukeEm. select this and in the action list you will now see the nukem script named. just highlight and drag it onto the “scripts” toolbar you created above in stage 2.
4. menu customize-save custom ui scheme, call it something different to the default, make sure you quit max now and restart it as if you crash you will have to go through all of the above again as it only properly saves the ui on exit.
5. hit the script! its wicked!i love the simple but effective trick it does in that it copies the resulting nuke script into the copy buffer, so once its run you just switch to nuke and in the node view, just hit ctrl-V, or right click paste. and there is your 3ds max scene in nuke! Its so much better than FBX!
cheers
