hi,
would there be a way of defaulting to “newest message first” sort mode?
also the selection is way down at the end of the list & especially for more paged subjects … blamaybe i´m only blind & just dont find where to set it.

As far as the sort order, I’ll see if I can get that to work as well.

Every time it renders a page in the forums it hangs for a couple of seconds and grabs all the CPU time, even if you’re just flipping back and forth with no network activity. Happens in IE6 and in the new IE7 beta too. I guess it’s a bug in IE, it’s fine in everything else 🙂

For me, I’ve been struggling with figuring out the new posts thing for a while. It would be so nice to see only the new messages. I think that one is honestly a royal pain, but we only have so much time to spend on the site. Since others feel the same way, I’ll bump it up on the list 🙂
This summer, we’ll be replacing the forums with another piece of software which is more feature rich. So hang in there (I’ll fix the new posts thing before that).
