I was simply WOW and blown away by MOKEY & MONET software at NAB 2005.While it looks too good to be true in the demo…like every demo.
Just wondering if there are any users out there using this software who would like to share their experiences in this amazing roto and tracking software…How does it compared with the furnace?
Care to comment???May 4, 2005 at 10:49 am #209952dazmanParticipantFor starters, it is much quicker then Furnace.
I use Mokey a lot for tracking, when Flame isn’t giving the best results. You can export the tracking data from Mokey into Discreet products, Shake and After Effects etc… I find I get the best results exporting to Shake as a Match Move node.
We have used Mokey numerous times for various jobs, and in most cases, it is just trail and error. Sometimes it will work well, and quickly, other times, it won’t give you the best results, but you have a stepping stone to work from. Recently I had an aweful cleanup to do, with perspective changes and everything, I painted up a still in flame, tracked the problem area in mokey and it was all done within a matter of minutes, with scale and perspective changes, perfectly. This isn’t always the case, but I always have something I can work from.
Download the demo and try it for yourself, I’d recommend it just for the tracking export alone : )

Just curious…We are runing monet, together with shake on linux … It’s the best software we bougth in a very long time. We use it all the time for perfect tracking and packreplacement. For us it’s briliant, And I would recoment it for everybody which use alot of tracking, pack replacement and screen inserts.
We used it for replacing a kellog’s back, with a mans moving shadow on the pack – monet tracked it and replaced the front even with the shadow intact.
