I have been using the pantone spydr system for a couple of years. it seems to me that consisitan monitor callibration and filming out test wedges on a regular basis keeps my clients happy.

If you are using the Sony BVM range of broadcast monitors, the Sony calibration probe that plugs in the front can be bought for a reasonable price.

This can then be used to calibrate other monitors (including VGA), as the monitor with the probe plugged into it can be used as an analyser, displaying coordinate values of whatever other screen the probe is stuck onto.

As for colour temps, as far as I know Japan is the only country to use 9300 for TV work – everywhere else is 6500.

    Regards,

    Richard
