Just wondering what software / monitor probes is popular in calibrating monitors for film and TV work? also curious what white vlaues are used 9300K, 6500K in the color temperture of monitors ???
any insight in this area would be great.

CineSpace from Rigins Sun Research is a great product and supports several OS including Linux and IRIX.

November 30, 2005 at 4:17 pm #211221AlanEBellParticipantI have been using the pantone spydr system for a couple of years. it seems to me that consisitan monitor callibration and filming out test wedges on a regular basis keeps my clients happy.

Alan BellDecember 1, 2005 at 2:48 am #211217AnonymousGuestIf you are using the Sony BVM range of broadcast monitors, the Sony calibration probe that plugs in the front can be bought for a reasonable price.
This can then be used to calibrate other monitors (including VGA), as the monitor with the probe plugged into it can be used as an analyser, displaying coordinate values of whatever other screen the probe is stuck onto.
As for colour temps, as far as I know Japan is the only country to use 9300 for TV work – everywhere else is 6500.
