There are a few quicktimes under

    Special Reports.
there are also some as tips..

But you know I completely agree with your initial statement. It would be great to have more quicktimes, and the good news is that we intend to do more over the coming months.

Actually to be honest a while ago we discussed this internally but we had some issues with server bandwidth, – these issues have all been addressed now and as part of the revamp/redesign of the site you would have noticed a few months ago – we switched where the site is hosted. As a result we can now look at doing more quicktimes.

Can you suggest some topics you’d like to see covered ?

    – matte painting?
    – flame compositing?
    – tracking ?
    – shake?
    – sparks?

    thanks

Well… hmmm.. I guess i would choose all the above. But I think i would give priority to flame compositing and sparks at the top of the list, followed by 2d tracking and stabilizing(specially when u need to stabilize a footage with camera tracking and rotating with the tracking points constantly moving out of frame). I hope other members share thier choices too.
    Thanks Again
    Keep up the good work

I would also like a tutorial on the color warper. specially using it to correct badly lit shots and footage without proper white balance. 🙂

Quicktime lesson is definitely a great help…More so than reading the manual.A lot easier to understand as well.So far I have gained a better understanding of expressions and batch.I do wish for more work examples on the use of batch and the rest that you have mentioned, mike!

We are extremely close to releasing DVD’s of the fxguide live sessions we did at NAB 2003 and 2004. Editing and authoring is complete and we are burning masters and finalizing distribution arrangements. Look for a story soon announcing contents and how to order.

What we don’t want to do is simply do quicktime tutorials of tips/tricks/concepts that are effectively explained as images and text. You know…tips that people can print out and add to a binder. The worst thing we could do is to make quicktime movies that are builds and cuts between still frames and power point-like slides.

We really would like to do more tips that take advantage of quicktimes to better display concepts, etc. The expressions and mk tutorials are good examples.
