    Hello

i have a 8 bits sequence to print on film. The only way i have find is to apply a inverted “film look” lut to have a film print whit the right contrast.

I have try to make this inverted lut with 8bits file pass over a linear to log lut whit some tweak to reach the look as the original 8 bits over a visualisation lut film look.

I know it a little bit tricky to onderstand but if you have already try to make this type of lut in combustion your help is really apreciated.

    Thanks

The film printer can read and print linear files, so that why do not try doing this?
Use tif file without any compression (like rle, lzw,…) and say to the “printer man ” I have to print it with a linear colour space.
Arrilaser can do that I’m sure (we printed many HD film in this way).

    HTH
