January 23, 2003 at 4:50 pm #206762AnonymousInactiveI’m looking forward to test drive this new release. True resolution independance! Can we believe it?:)
I am wondering if the beta testers can (are allowed to) tell us a bit about the stability of this release… Always a good question with new softwares…
January 23, 2003 at 9:28 pm #206761AnonymousInactiveis it true we have to relearn flame , or is that just excited ops talking ..i’ve been told its the same apart from the extras of what the press release states, this doesnt mean we have to relearn it!!
January 23, 2003 at 11:10 pm #206760AnonymousGuestLike any new software release there will be a learning curve and this software has a lot of new stuff in it! But saying you have to relearn Flame is a bit extreme, it still is the same software at heart that you use today.
Probably the biggest adjustment is in batch where the new features have made for some major button and hotkey changes… but it does not take that long to adjust. Hotkeys had to change because of new timeline editing features in batch that make extensive use of hotkeys and a more integrated action/batch.
My guess for second biggest adjustment is the library concept is a bit different, since a given project can now contain clips of various resolutions. This means that while you were used to logging in to a given project and having access to all clips at that resolution, the structure is more project based. You can always self-wire clips from other projects, instantly.
I have found the new software stabile, I am using it daily.
