    Hi guys,

Maybe create a “Wish list” now would be very hard cause I think DD Nuke is not so used for many people or Studios/FX Houses actually.
I have some experience with Motion Graphics and Broadcast works. I just start to learning Shake and Nuke last year for some films works. And I love them. So, I hope that little wish list could help Nuke growing as app.

    1. A timeline with NLE tools
    2. Plugins, please….
    3. I think Shake is more stable than Nuke even workin with SD formats. Nuke crashed a lot of times.
    4. OK, OK, Nuke is for film and After and Combustion are for Motion Graphics. But, I confess that I would love to see some mograph tools in Nuke. 🙄
    5. Direct support of native Maya and 3D Max formats would be great.
    6. 3D Tracker???

    Thanx

    1. A timeline with NLE tools

    – on the list

    2. Plugins, please….

    – we’re going to support the ofx plugin format (which is set up by the foundry) so anyone who develops for that standard will have a working nuke plugin

    3. I think Shake is more stable than Nuke even workin with SD formats. Nuke crashed a lot of times.

    which version are you running?

    4. OK, OK, Nuke is for film and After and Combustion are for Motion Graphics. But, I confess that I would love to see some mograph tools in Nuke.

    like?

    5. Direct support of native Maya and 3D Max formats would be great.

personally, i’d rather see the FBX format supported

    6. 3D Tracker???

cmon we’d be re-writing another app’s total functionality.
    let the compositing software composite.

    Hi throb,

I saw your demo-reel in your site. AMAZING WORKS, MAN!!!!

    Well, let’s go:

    1. A timeline with NLE tools

    – on the list

RE: Thank very much. 😀 But what not a better integration with a NLE? Like Edit and Combustion, or something like Automatic Duck, linling Avid and Nuke, etc……..

    2. Plugins, please….

    – we’re going to support the ofx plugin format (which is set up by the foundry) so anyone who develops for that standard will have a working nuke plugin

RE: Cool. Do you know what companies are working with ofx format today?

    3. I think Shake is more stable than Nuke even workin with SD formats. Nuke crashed a lot of times.

    which version are you running?

RE: 4.1 on RedHat Linux like our buddy HoP.

    4. OK, OK, Nuke is for film and After and Combustion are for Motion Graphics. But, I confess that I would love to see some mograph tools in Nuke.

    like?

RE: Well, there a lot of fantastic tools/filters in After Effetcs and Combustion. A good text operator like in Combustion, a good integration with audio like After, etc. Can I send you a list later???

    5. Direct support of native Maya and 3D Max formats would be great.

personally, i’d rather see the FBX format supported.

RE: OK…………But, work with IFF in Shake is very useful. Even RPF in Max/Combustion too. If we could paint texture maps, add effects (like glows, blurs, displacements) in specific objetcs, would be great. hehehe, IFF + RPF. I’m a dreamer…..

    6. 3D Tracker???

cmon we’d be re-writing another app’s total functionality.
    let the compositing software composite.

    RE: Very cool.

    Best regards,

    hi 😀

    1. A timeline with NLE tools in the Nuke is not necessary. Nuke is a soft of compositing.
    2. Plugins? I use the plugins of Shake and DF and the import all in Nuke.
    3. Unstable Nuke? impossible to all the resolutions.
    4. Nuke for film not motion graphics
    5. The support for files rpf-rla is not necessary. Imports the files rpf-rla in the Combustion or DF and you extract the channels that serve (normal, object-id, render node, depth, all channels ect.) to you and uses them in Nuke.
    6. 3D tracker? other applications for this exist

First of all a trial version would be awesome 🙂

    But here a some ideas:

    – Better interface (I know seems useless, but the interface in Nuke is scary)
    – A better solution for the floating palettes
    – FBX support
    – Built in Mookey
    – Built in expresso machine would be lovely too 🙂

Haven’t used it yet tho, so I’m the worst person to speak about it, but I would really like to test it.

Any chance to check a trial version?

    Cheers,
    dg

maybe you want to use it for a while before you suggest changes?

    My humble opinion:

    – More help support.

    – DBs with scripts of some motion pictures or spots works doing with Nuke.

I’m a discreet user and, just for experience, i know there is not too important the new features of the software as the possibilities of learning from another user’s experience. More you live is more you learn. I tried combustion 4 last week and still there is not really trully reasons to change my 2.11 version. Maybe only by Nuke,. If I only get more info, tutorials and documentation…

    Sorry about my poor english…

We had a trial of nuke and I must say I love it. It’s damm fast and have a really nice feature set.

A timeline is a great idea – but please not a NLE timeline only like combustion. Please have a look at after fx, motion and AVID DS … having a timeline for “edits only” suckz. The timeline should be a place where you copy paste effects or even entire trees and trim your clips and trim and retime all your effects. This is really well done in both motion, afx and especially DS. Maybe with some kind of collabaration tools bettwen artist on top to beat toxic.

Another big wish for me, is the interface. Actually it’s great but there should be a way to recycle the popup windows – so you can choose not to get a pop up each time you use an effect.

If these 2 things was there – nuke would beat both shake, fusion, toxic and even maybe FFI.

    my 2 cents

I love the way XSI|softimage is handling the windows.
It can be minimized, locked(means always open), and closed.

Well after some time i got familiar with Nuke’s interface, though. 😉
