Hello Everyone: (Its been amazing learning so many cool things from you all-Thanks very much)
Q: How do Maya 3D artist assign Object IDs and Material IDs to rendered info. I looked through Maya and didn’t find it and the 3D artsit said they weren’t sure. I remember Max having this and maybe Softimage. Can anyone help me?
I was hoping to take this into Fusion and pull mattes, is this the right workflow?? Thanks again!!

If maya doesn´t have this function you can render alpha passes, this method allow you to use masks with motion blur and AA for instance

or should I stick with asking for a UV or normals pass?
