Pb with VTR "Servo lock is lost"

Hi guys,

I have a pb when I want to output on my VTR.
After few secs, the VTR stops, I get this message “Servo lock is lost”, then it rewinds, output few frames, stops, rewind, output… and so on

If anybody knows what that means and how to fix that, let me know…

are you outputting in assemble or inser mode ? try a pre roll of 250frames, check sync from the engineering menu in flint, check sync TO the VTR, check if the VTR heads are clean, check the firmware version of the VTR from the VTRs internal menu.

I output insert mode.
For the check list that you gave me, sure I can open the engineering menu but then ?
What I should set things to ?
How do I check the sync ?

in engineering the setting should the HOUSE.. dont u have master sync gen in your machine/vtr room ?

If you don´t have a master sync try setting the sync (in engineering) from house to standalone so flame can sync with the vtr.

unless im mistaken, standalone will allow u to digitize from but not output to the Vtr

standalone works great for me. dont have a sync gen and use it all the time. but i don´t know about HD

Thank you for your reply, we’re in touch with the Autodesk support team, so hopefully they’ll find a solution.
Not being too technical, could you explain to me what is the use of the Sync gen ?
Can we work without it ?
