Hi All–
I was curious if you know of any sites that offered plates and elements, preferably with live-action footage, that is free for students to use for practice and experimentation? I have some stuff coming from my film dept, but obviously the more I can get my hands on things and play around, the better!
Thanks for the tips!

there are also lots of books out there that are offering HD or better footage to play with – the Encyclopedia of Visual Effects comes to mind, and also I think steve wright has a new one. Those are primarily for compositing.
another good source of live action footage is stock libraries. you know, naturelibrary.com, eyewire, etc
