Hello, 🙄
Its maybe a silly Q but is there a Time warp in combustion like in flame or the only way to do it is through the uotput where u can control the speed and the frame blending option. I know there is the Twixtor but im not sure idf its animatable . i want a control of the trail, blend, curve animation as in the TW.
Thx 😯November 26, 2003 at 8:53 am #207346AnonymousInactiveHi…
Well, you pretty much answered your own question:
To achieve a Time warp (dynamically ramped speed change)
in Combustion, you can use either of two plug-ins:1) Twixtor by RE:Vision Effects – link:
http://www.revisionfx.com/rstwixtor.htm2) Retimer by Reavliz. link:
http://www.realviz.com/products/rtpro/index.phpOtherwise, combustion can perform only has fixed rate speed changes.
Now, You probably already know how to do this, but for those who DON’T…
Here’s a summary of the steps to do a speed change:Start with the Time Stretch options to stretch or compress the duration of your footage. The duration of the clip is updated according to the changes you make to this option. For example, if you reduce the speed of a 15-frame sequence set at 30 fps to 50%, the duration of the clip becomes 1 minute. The frame rate of the clip is not affected.
Next, make sure you use “Frame Blending” (in conjunction with the above option) to create a smoother transitions between frames when you extend the duration of your clip. If you extend the duration of your clip with Frame Blending disabled, the new frames added are duplicates of existing frames. If you enable Frame Blending, new frames are created by blending adjacent frames together.
As an effect, you can also specify a “hold duration” for each frame. For instance, if you set the Hold Frame Duration to 2, the footage moves ahead one frame as the composite moves ahead by two. This is the same as setting the frame rate to 15 fps.
If you change the frame hold duration, the clip duration also changes. By setting the hold duration to two, you are doubling the length of the clip. Set the frame hold duration to three to triple the length of the clip, and so on.
This is a particularly useful setting for cartoon animators. For instance, if you import an image sequence for which each frame has to repeat four times before advancing, the associated frame rate would have to be 7.4925 fps. It is much easier to set this using the Hold Frame Duration option than by trying to calculate this value in frames per second.
FYI: This stuff is all from the on-line help … Just Hit “F1”
Bye for now..

Thanks for your answer,
i just thaught that in the new version they made a change and shame they didnt. its a very simple feature and very important i think to add to combustion.
dont you thik so???November 26, 2003 at 7:30 pm #207347AnonymousInactiveWell……..
Actually, Discret DID include a really nice & very special Plug-In!
At the very “last” second Discreet included Re:Vision’s “Flex”
plugin for morphing and warping ! This ALSO was a needed tool….FYI: This was discussed here a while ago — See:
http://www.fxguide.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=365It may NOT be Twixtor, but that Plug-In is worth about US $ 600.-
So, with the upgrade cost from Cv2 to Cv3 at about US $200.-
it is an EXCELLENT upgrade value…You may say “Doesn’t C need still need a TimeWarp tool?”
Yes, it may, but for now just use a plug-in.
And you can put your requests on your wish list for the future release of C!Bye
