We have been comparing tiff-sequence exports from the same quicktime on a mac and a pc. If you compare these tiff files you will notice a difference in the gamma value. So depending on which OS you export from you will end up with different results. Is there a way to bypass this? I guess this behaviour is there to compensate for the difference in mac and pc screen gamma? But it doesn’t seem very proffesional does it? This sort of rules out mov files as something you can render and send away to others. Anybody knows what I’m talking about?

    hi,

though i havent seen it myself, i´ve heared of it several times.
to me it sounds, like you say, as if the mac would apply some gamma adjustment – usually the pc´s are too *simple* for such automatics & should just work with gamma 1.0
i´d look on the mac side for changes – color profiles or such …

    ciao
