We have been comparing tiff-sequence exports from the same quicktime on a mac and a pc. If you compare these tiff files you will notice a difference in the gamma value. So depending on which OS you export from you will end up with different results. Is there a way to bypass this? This sort of rules out mov files as something you can render and send away to others. Anybody knows what I’m talking about?
though i havent seen it myself, i´ve heared of it several times.
to me it sounds, like you say, as if the mac would apply some gamma adjustment – usually the pc´s are too *simple* for such automatics & should just work with gamma 1.0
i´d look on the mac side for changes – color profiles or such …
