Anyone know if its possible to record the footage on your monitor with the trackers visible? Is this at all possible with just using flame? We tried routing to the preview monitor and it we got a crappy SD version with the whole screen. We are just trying to get the preview window with the trackers. Any help would be appreciated.

otherwise,
by trackers do you mean the flame “trackers” or tracking marks on a subject? What is the goal of having these trackers visible cos I’m confused.October 15, 2008 at 6:07 pm #217244Fernando Nicolas SayavedraParticipantWe are creating a before and after sort of reel to show skill sets. So for tracking we want to show the tracker markers that have been created inside flame. We want to be able to show tracking skills so for instance we’d show a clip that has been tracked with the markers visible and then fade or whatever to the final clip. Hopefully that helps. Let me know if you need more info.

I think Mike Seymour and company have some way of doing it. I remember some of the FXPHD stuff being a nice clean capture of that sort of thing, but I have no clue.
Personally i’d just cheat it by making fake tracking markers.

I know it’s not an elegant solution, but it’s still quicker than install-reboot-trial-error cycle and the quality is guaranteed…
…again: the shot should be short…pH.

I have a shot on my reel with the trackers visible. I put it together a while ago and my memory is a little hazy but IIRC it went a little something like this….
Patch SD SGI from Flame out to DB deck. leave the deck in local mode.
Press crash record on the DB deck
Go into tracker etc and put your shot together.
Once you have done everything you want go and stop the tape then capture it in using your normal method.I did it on a tezro Flame – not sure if it would work with a linux machine.
