Hi,
If you have used the warper / morpher in SilhouetteFX version 5, 6 or 7, would you be willing to let me know? I am the author of that code and would greatly like to hear from you. This will not be used for marketing. Rather, to build a case for a potential award submission.
SilhouetteFX will receive an Academy SciTech award in February for roto and paint. Thank you all!
I received a SciTech award in 1996 for shape-driven warping and morphing in Elastic Reality. Since V5 of SilhoueteFX, a much improved warper / morpher has been part of the product.
Previous SciTech awards can be “upgraded” but only if it can be shown that the innovation continues to make a contribution to filmmaking. Nobody talks about warping and morphing anymore but its use is more frequent than ever as a fix-it tool. Please let me know if you have used our warper / morpher (if you do 2D to 3D conversion, you have – it is hidden behind the scenes as the thing building the depth maps from shapes). Please mention how you used it and on what. I will ask your explicit permission if we do make a submission for an upgrade.
This is a big ask, and answers will be enormously appreciated.
With thanks,
Perry Kivolowitz
