Does anyone have a suggestion for Screen color when shooting plants? The plants have both green and blue in them. Was thinking about a black screen but that would kick up a bunch of other issues like: keeping the light off it and black elsewhere in the scene. Last resort, do I Roto?

    Hi NicY.

Just a quick thought: how about a red screen? I don’t know the color of your foliage, but if you have no reds, then that might be possible.

I have seen many foliage timelapses shot on black, and that could also be the way to go. Roto sounds very painful, especially if there is many leaves or a bit of wind 😉

I would strongly recommend red over black (if you can)

I have shot plants, trees and shrubs all on a red screen with great success. Light it the same way you would with green/blue.

    Black works great for me!
