silhouette dancers project – help needed

I need some help I have a scene of a dance club that Im working on.
All of the dancers have been turned from green-screen to just silhouettes what I would like to do is have each dancer ( which are all just white matts now) be a sight different solid color( it can be random), now I know I could CC them, but It got me thinking about using a script to do that for me. Seems like there was away in the particle system you could have each new spawned particle be a different color. NOT that I would be using the particle system, Im just saying.

can anyone point me in the right direction?
