    Hello,

We are soon shooting some vfx takes and I would like to get some advice. One of the shots is a man manipulating a small fireball between his fingers.

We are going to shoot the fireball with a black background and then do the composite.

The only problem is that we thought about putting a small greenkey sphere in the hand of the performer so he can play with in a realistic maner, the problem we get doing this is that we lose the hand details behind the sphere and since fire is traslucid we will get a hole in the plate.

Anybody has already done this kind of shot and has a solution for this ?

    Regards,

    A.

I´m not a pro and i have never done something simliar, but i think i would give the actor an transparant ball. For him its good to actually have something in his fingers and for you to always have the same size. But on the opposit you have a little bit more work to insert the fire.
