hey all,
quick question (though I don’t expect a quick response) – is it possible to conform a DPX sequence from an AAF? If not – has anyone done something similar in another way?
My work flow:
I have been provided with a ‘bunch’ of DPX files in various folders and an AAF file from the offline editor. Initially I was going to use the AAF to link to these files via timecode/VT names, unfortunately the DPX files provided was not supplied in the right way (IE folder structure was not supplied with folders representing the VT names) or with that information in the header.
As such I was hoping I could use the AAF to to conform via Keycode. When I load my AAF, I can see keycode information but can not see anyway to tell it to conform to the higher res DPX files via keycode (I soft-imported the dpx sequences into the same reel as the AAF).
any ideas?

What I would do is that at the recursive soft import stage to give all the clips that are from the same VT a manual VT name. Repeat for all of the VT sources, and make sure to import them all into one reel. When you’re done the AAF should find all of the correct sources provided that the timecodes in the DPX or frame numbers were correct when you soft-imported them.
Best,
